1. Who is responsible and what this policy covers
Human to Dog Translator: Play (the App) and humantodogtranslator.app (the Website) are provided by Vladyslav Yepishkin, an individual developer. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Vladyslav Yepishkin, who is responsible for the personal information handled to operate these services and respond to support requests.
Postal address: Tirdi tn 8, Apt 40, Tallinn, Harju maakond, 10916, Estonia.
Privacy and support contact: [email protected].
This policy distinguishes information processed locally by the App, information processed when you visit the Website, and information you choose to send to support. Apple's services and any external service you choose to use also have their own privacy terms.
2. Information processed on your iPhone
The App works without an App account. We do not operate an online account, social feed or hosted dog-profile service.
Microphone and audio
When you choose a recording feature, the App requests microphone permission and processes the recording on your iPhone to produce an entertainment result. The App does not upload your recordings to us or to an external AI or translation service.
A temporary audio file may remain available for replay during the current interaction. The App includes cleanup when a result is discarded or replaced and when leftover temporary recordings are found on a later launch. Temporary storage and deletion also depend on iOS. We do not promise that a recording is erased immediately after a result appears.
You can deny or withdraw microphone permission in iOS Settings. Features that require recording will then be unavailable; other features remain subject to their normal access conditions.
Dog profile and selected photo
If you create a dog profile, the App stores the name, breed, age, favourite command and photo you choose to provide in local app storage. These fields describe your dog, but a name, photo or other material you enter may also contain personal information.
The system photo picker provides the image you select. The App does not request unrestricted access to your entire photo library or upload your profile photo to us.
You can edit or reset the profile and remove its selected photo using the App. Removing a photo from the profile does not delete the original from your Photos library.
Local settings and results
The App stores settings and state needed for features such as onboarding and free-use limits on your device. Its local reset clears the dog profile and current result; it does not cancel subscriptions, delete your Apple Account, or necessarily clear every preference or historical record from an older installation.
iOS device backups or device transfers may include some app data according to your Apple settings. We do not control those backups. Local processing by the App does not mean that no copy can ever exist in a backup you manage with Apple.
3. Purchases and Apple services
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. The App receives product information and purchase-entitlement information from StoreKit so it can display offers, unlock paid features and restore eligible purchases.
Payment details are handled by Apple. The App does not ask you to enter a payment-card number and we do not receive that number through the App. Apple may provide us with developer sales, financial or diagnostic reports according to its services and your Apple settings; these are separate from a custom in-app analytics SDK.
Apple's handling of your Apple Account, payments, device backups and any diagnostics you share with Apple is explained in the Apple Privacy Policy.
4. Sharing a result
If you use the system share sheet, you choose the app or recipient to which the result text is sent. This does not publish the result to a social network operated by us.
The recipient or external service will handle the shared information under its own terms. Check the content and destination before sharing. We cannot remove copies that you send to another person or service.
5. Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address, any sender name, the content of the conversation and any attachments or technical details you voluntarily include. Support messages sent to our domain are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail mailbox operated by Google.
We use this information to answer questions, investigate reported problems, respond to privacy requests and manage related disputes or legal obligations. We do not add support senders to a marketing mailing list.
Please send only information needed for your request. Do not send payment-card details, passwords, identity documents, sensitive personal information or recordings/photos of other people unless necessary and lawful. If we need information to verify a privacy request, we will ask only for what is reasonably necessary.
6. Website hosting, cookies and analytics
Cloudflare hosts and delivers the Website. Visiting a web page necessarily sends connection and request information to the hosting service, such as your IP address, requested URL, time of request, browser information and relevant HTTP headers. Such information may be processed for delivery, reliability, security and abuse prevention.
Our iOS App does not include a custom usage-analytics or advertising SDK and does not send us session-duration or screen-view events.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is available on the Website to understand where visits come from, how pages are used and what we can improve. We load the Google analytics tag only after you choose Allow analytics in the consent banner. Before consent, and when you decline, our analytics integration sends no requests to Google. Declining analytics does not prevent access to the Website, legal documents or support.
After consent, Google processes pseudonymous browser identifiers from analytics cookies, page and event information, timestamps, referral and campaign information, browser/device characteristics, language, screen information and approximate location derived from connection information. Your browser connects to Google, which receives network information such as your IP address. These records are not described as completely anonymous.
Measurements include page views, visit engagement, scroll depth, language changes, FAQ openings and clicks on support or an available App Store link. We do not intentionally send the content of support emails, recordings, dog profiles or photos to GA4. Our event code removes query strings and fragments from page URLs and keeps only the origin of a referring page; recognised campaign labels may be sent separately. Please do not place personal information in campaign links.
The Website tag disables Google Signals and advertising-personalisation signals and keeps advertising storage and advertising-data consent denied. We do not configure a custom User-ID or use this integration for remarketing.
You can change or withdraw consent at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawal stops further analytics collection in that browser and clears accessible GA cookies; it does not automatically erase information already processed by Google. You can contact us about deletion rights. Browser blocking or clearing website storage may affect whether your choice is remembered.
Hosting and security services may use strictly necessary technical storage when needed to operate or protect the Website. This is separate from optional analytics. You can manage website data through your browser settings.
7. Purposes and legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar law applies, the relevant bases for the information we handle are:
- Providing a requested service and responding to support about that service: performance of a contract with you or steps requested before entering a contract, where that basis applies.
- General enquiries, maintaining a reliable and secure Website, preventing abuse, and handling necessary operational records: our legitimate interests in providing and protecting the services, balanced against your rights.
- Records that applicable law requires us to retain or disclose: compliance with that legal obligation.
- Optional processing that requires your consent: your consent, obtained separately before that processing. Accepting the Terms or merely visiting the Website is not consent to optional analytics.
Local microphone/photo permissions control the App's access to your device resources. Information needed for an optional feature is not required to use unrelated features. If you do not provide information needed to answer a support request, we may be unable to resolve that particular request.
We do not use your personal information for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing. The App's playful results are not assessments of a person's or animal's health.
8. Recipients and international processing
Information is handled by the providers needed for the activity concerned:
- Apple: App Store distribution, purchases, subscription services and any Apple services you choose to use.
- Cloudflare: Website delivery/security and forwarding email addressed to support.
- Google/Gmail: receiving, storing and replying to support correspondence.
- Google Analytics: optional Website measurement after your consent, as described in section 6.
- An external app or recipient you choose through the system share sheet.
- Authorities, advisers or other recipients where disclosure is necessary to comply with law or establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not describe email correspondence or individual website requests as anonymous data.
Providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Applicable transfer arrangements depend on the provider, service and destination. These may involve a recognised adequacy decision or contractual safeguards where required.
Provider information is available in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy, Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum, Google Privacy Policy, Google transfer information, and the Apple policy linked above. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to processing of your information, including how to obtain a copy where applicable.
9. How long information is kept
- Local recordings: temporary files are handled as described in section 2. We do not keep a server copy of recordings made in the App.
- Local profile and preferences: remain in app storage until changed, reset or removed, subject to iOS behaviour and any backups or older-version data. We do not set a server retention period for this local data.
- Routine support correspondence and attachments: kept while the request is being handled and deleted from the support mailbox within 12 months after the request is closed. A request is closed when we have provided a substantive resolution and there is no outstanding follow-up.
- An unresolved dispute, legal obligation or legal claim: only the information reasonably needed is kept for the applicable requirement or claim period. It is deleted when that reason ends.
- Website delivery/security information: retained for the period needed to operate and protect the service, resolve relevant security incidents, and meet legal requirements under the hosting provider's applicable practices. The 12-month support period does not apply to hosting logs.
- Provider-controlled payment records, service logs and backup copies: subject to the relevant provider's applicable retention and deletion practices. Deleting a message from our active mailbox does not promise immediate erasure of every provider backup.
- Analytics cookies: the Website tag sets the _ga and _ga_* cookie lifetime to 180 days without extending that lifetime on each page view. Your browser may remove them sooner.
- Consent preference: a localStorage entry records your choice and its date. The choice is valid for 180 days; after that we ask again. The stored entry itself can remain until replaced or cleared in your browser.
- Google Analytics records: the standard GA4 service provides 2- or 14-month retention settings for detailed event data, followed by Google's monthly deletion process. User-identifier retention can restart with new consented activity when that property option is enabled. Aggregated reports are outside these event-retention limits and may remain available for longer while needed to compare Website usage and improvements. These provider-side settings are separate from our 180-day browser-cookie lifetime. Contact us for the current property setting or a deletion request.
Routine support information may be deleted earlier if no longer needed or in response to a valid request. We do not retain all information indefinitely simply because it may be useful later.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
Use iOS Settings to manage microphone permissions. Use the profile controls to edit or reset locally stored profile information. You can also remove the App and manage any device backups separately in Apple's settings.
To ask about information we hold, email [email protected]. Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, object to processing, receive portable data, or withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
We respond within the deadline required by applicable law. For GDPR requests, this is normally one month; any permitted extension will be explained within that initial period. We may request proportionate information to verify identity and explain any lawful reason we cannot fulfil a request in full.
We cannot remotely erase data that is stored only on your iPhone, delete your Apple Account, cancel a subscription by deleting app data, or erase another recipient's copy of information you chose to share.
You may complain to the data-protection authority competent for your location or our activities. In Estonia, this is the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate. You do not have to give up any statutory complaint or other privacy right to contact us first.
11. Age and children's information
The App and Website are intended for adult dog owners and teenagers aged 13 or older. They are not directed to children under 13. A higher minimum age or additional parental authorisation required by local law takes precedence. Users below the age of majority may use the services only with a parent's or legal guardian's permission and supervision, where permitted by law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information through support or the Website from children under 13, or process a minor's information on the basis of consent without parental authorisation where the law requires it. A parent or guardian should contact support on a child's behalf where such authorisation is required.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information without the required authorisation, contact us. We will investigate and delete information that we should not retain, subject to applicable legal requirements. The App does not provide an account-registration or parental-consent verification system.
12. Security and changes
We use HTTPS for the Website and take reasonable steps appropriate to the information we handle. No internet service or device-storage system can guarantee absolute security. You should protect access to your iPhone, email and Apple Account.
We will update this policy when our practices change, show a new revision date and give additional notice or obtain consent where required. Material changes will not be treated as permission for a new optional use of your information solely because you continue using the services.
For questions about this policy, contact Vladyslav Yepishkin at the postal or email address in section 1. Related service conditions are in our Terms & Conditions.
